I missed a meal!

Posted: July 27, 2011 in Uncategorized

I tell you , just when I think I am getting everything down, the unexpected happens. I had a class that went longer than I thought, and I didn’t get to get my snack in the early am or the afternoon.
I got home at 5pm and was just not able to get 3 meals in before bed….. I did have two good healthy Paleo/Zone meals though.

What day does this end? I think we need a count down when I get back from vacation..

Someone tell me how they are doing? Krista? Trish? Coach Pablo…we havent heard form you in awhile. 🙂

This is one of my favorite videos  – I keep going back to it and showing everyone what is going on this weekend.

Downhill side

Starting week 6 today!  Yahoo!  It is getting more of a rhythm now. I know how much makes a block more by sight.  I sometimes measure just to keep myself in check; but for the most part Jake and I have it down.  Last night Jake made an awesome Egg, broccoli omelet and then had a peach for his fifth meal.  I had to down a bunch of water before bed to get it in, but managed to get 8 hours of sleep also.

I am not craving the soda any more at all, or really anything much.  I am sure that will change on vacation when it is all around me.  I keep telling myself, I just  have to make it through this week with no cheating and then I can slip a little.

What are you doing that seems to be easy?  What is the hardest part still?

Very excited to hear Krista and Andres are official certified CF coaches! Can’t wait to see them in action at the gym!

Check out their picture on the CrossFit main page. ( Thanks for pointing it out Vic)

I had a successful road trip to pick up my kids. Packed my two snacks and ate with my sister in law for one meal. Trying to recover from my cheat meal on Saturday night 🙂 Ha Ha.
Jake made a good meal when I got home; Pork, BBQ squash with peppers, beets, and some fruit.
Ready for the New week? What is one of the meals you have for convenience? Is any one finding this easier?

Minus 2!

I had a cheat meal last night! Jake and I decided to take advantage of not having any kids and went out on a date to Rossi’s.  It was very good. We did have to make a pact to not cheat again until the cruise!

I went to the last two work outs. “Barbara” And The Front squat.  I am so sore I can barely move!  Crazy I can feel every muscle I used! It’s awesome.  Except that I have to sit in the car today for several hours.

What a whirlwind of a day, Saturday was. I had an emotional roller coaster. I was again reminded of how short life is and how it isn’t the the older, lived lives that are the first to leave us.
It has had me contemplating how I want to live my life for the chance that I could lose the ones I love the most and even be gone in heart beat myself. It’s a different, still sad story when someone dies of a long fighting disease.  But another when it happens quickly and takes everyone by surprise.
My cousin of 32 years old passed away yesterday morning in her sleep. They believe it was a medication issue. She leaves behind husband, two children 15 and 4 yrs old.
I also found out that a old friend lost BOTH of her children ages 8 and 7 in a drowning accident in front of her own house.
I have been at a loss for words mainly, thinking of how each of these families are feeling and hurting.
Here my life seems to be going so well! I love going to CrossFit, my family is happy, healthy, I have wonderful friends and famliy so close.  We enjoy the activities we have around us and I think we live very happy.  I just can’t imagine losing another child, or being gone while my children still have so much growing up to do.

Thanks for listening to my story.  I just want to share to remind us all how important every day is.  I want to add this to my daily checklist- ” Did I do something that makes me happy today?, Did I make someone else happy today?”

I hope you all have a good Sunday, and make good eating choices!

Day two of my work seminar and I am doing really good. I went to trader joe’s and bought pineapple, grapes and pre cooked chicken pieces. Oh and water…. I ate it in my room last night for two meals!
I was able to get 17 points! Yahoo! Of course I am getting my 8 hours of sleep also.
I ran on the beach this morning. Did 3.2 miles , but I expected to be faster than my 32:00. Being at sea level.

I think I am truly addicted to CrossFit. I got all excited when I saw a CrossFit sign. I was driving or I would have taken a picture!

I am getting a lot of alone time here. which is good for my eating… If someone besides Jake would have come, I would have to fight off the “social eating.” I can easily eat in my room alone. 🙂

Have a great Paleo/Zone day!!!

Week 5

Posted: July 19, 2011 in Uncategorized

I am out if town for work this week. I resisted driving through the in-n-out yesterday and ate my packed snack. I was very proud of myself. Being down here may be easier tan I thought.

I am at the point that I don’t want to cheat. Reason number one is I am feeling too good. Reason number two is I am saving my cheating for the cruise !!!!

It is getting easier to eye ball a block. I can order food and calculate the blocks. I ordered eggs this morning and added an orange and my macadamia nuts.

I am super sore from “DT” and ready for a rest day. I did bring my bike and I am sure by the end of the day I will be ready for a nice long ride.

Have a good day everyone!

Sunday Funday!

We had a great work out today! Thanks Coach Gavin! My shoulders are getting tighter as I type.

I made a good meatloaf tonight that even the kids liked.
Ground beef, egg, salsa, and cilantro. Topped it with Onion and cooked it for 45 minutes. We topped it with salsa when we ate it. It tasted so good!  Jake did his special BBQ Squash with olive oil. It is my favorite way to have squash.

I also had a good Zone PWO meal today that I must share….
Made two eggs scrambled, added an ounce of cheese. Sauteed Zucchini with some garlic., cherries (7) and  1/2 apple. It was perfect for PWO. I am trying to change things up in the food dept. Getting tired of my Turkey, 1/2 apple and nuts…..

Ready for week 5 everyone???

Weekend snacks

Posted: July 16, 2011 in Uncategorized

We are going fishing in June Lake for the day. We can’t spend the night, because that is two or three more meals we would have to pack…and we are out of room 🙂
We made a smoothie for breakfast, with Banana, Strawberries, Blueberries, Flax seed, water.  We packed some hard boiled eggs & left over BBQ chicken.  We are going to stop by the store for some carb veggies and fruit.

I have missed the eight hours of sleep the last few nights.  I barley made it within the 5 hours of meals coming home from dropping hte kids off.  I didn’t calculate the others hitting traffic and us waiting for two hours.  But I made it home and Jake had a great Paleo/ Zone meal made and waiting!

Overall the weekends still scare me, but I think we end up doing really good. I think we are calculating in a cheat meal tonight at Yamatani…  Jake and I haven’t had a negative point in two and half weeks….  Until last night! 🙂

And my arms, and thighs…. Kind of glad the gym is closed today!
On a mini road trip with the kids. I packed my snacks- strawberries, frozen grapes, turkey breast and walnuts…. It’s a good thing I am only going to krammer junction and don’t pass an In-and-out !!!
